Bereavement is not a single task. Support should not be fragmented.
After a death, people may face funeral decisions, benefit applications, estate paperwork, notifications, housing questions and difficult conversations at the same time. PHRENETECH brings these practical needs together through an independent advice service, digital tools, referral pathways and appropriate onward support. We focus on non-clinical navigation and work alongside specialist providers where needs extend beyond our remit.
Practical bereavement navigation
Help with what happens after a death: registration, notifications, administration and where to turn next.
Financial and benefits support
Identifying bereavement payments, grants and entitlements, and helping people apply for them.
Independent funeral choice
Impartial information on funeral options and published prices, so people can make informed decisions.
Secure referrals and reporting
Consent-led referral pathways and appropriate reporting for the organisations we work with.
Delivery experience
Each relationship has a different scope, and we describe it accurately.

Our Liverpool city-scale pilot, delivered in collaboration with Liverpool City Council and Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, supported 149 bereaved people in its first evaluated phase. The independent evaluation found substantial practical and financial support needs, including an average saving of approximately £900 on attended funerals, £105,671 in one-off payments and £129,632 in new annual income secured.
Personalised telephone support in the Liverpool pilot's first evaluated phase (May 2024 to August 2025).
Compared with the prices first quoted to clients, among cases where a funeral was attended; not an average across everyone supported. Direct cremation savings averaged around £300.
Lump-sum entitlements secured for people supported in the first evaluated phase.
Recurring income per year, recorded at the time of evaluation; several benefit claims were still pending. Not added to the one-off figure because the time periods differ.
